Zanewood Brings Brooklyn Park Families Together for Youth & Family Anti-Violence Game Night

FROM THE MINNESOTA CHILL FOUNDATION TEAM

On July 23, Zanewood hosted its first Youth & Family Anti-Violence Game Night at The Wood, creating an evening centered on connection, community, and meaningful time together. The event brought Brooklyn Park families together in a welcoming environment where young people and their families could relax, have fun, and build stronger relationships.

The turnout exceeded expectations, with families enjoying board games, card games, video games, food, prizes, and plenty of opportunities to connect. Beyond the activities, the evening created space for parents to meet one another and build relationships that can continue to strengthen the community long after the event ended.

Creating safe, positive spaces for young people is an important part of Zanewood’s ongoing commitment to Brooklyn Park. Events like this provide opportunities for youth to feel supported, valued, and connected while giving families a chance to come together around something positive.

The success of the evening was made possible through the dedication of those who helped bring the event to life. Special recognition goes to Pam McBride, Brad Tullberg, and the team at The Wood Teen Center for their work in creating an engaging and welcoming experience for local families.

Zanewood also recognizes Shelle Page for her continued commitment to Brooklyn Park’s youth and families and her dedication to investing in opportunities that help young people thrive.

When families have places to connect, young people have opportunities to build relationships, and communities come together with purpose, the impact reaches far beyond a single evening. Strong communities are built through moments like these, one connection at a time.
