his weekend, our co-founder Cindy Hill, had the pleasure of attending the “MSR 90th Anniversary Celebration.” The event was not just a celebration but a powerful tribute to a legacy that has shaped our community for nearly a century.

This weekend marked the much-anticipated return of the Twin Cities Gus Macker 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament, the first since the pandemic—and it did not disappoint! Brooklyn Center kicked-off the festivities kicked off on Friday night with a warm and welcoming meet-up at the Embassy Suites Hotel.

The Minnesota CHILL Foundation began a beautiful day by volunteering at the YWCA Women’s Triathlon at Lake Nokomis. From the early morning, our team was on hand to support the participants, offering words of encouragement and ensuring they stayed hydrated throughout the event.

We had the pleasure of attending the Minnesota Black Chamber of Commerce’s 3rd Annual Gala, an evening that truly embodied vibrant energy and meaningful connections. This year’s theme, “In Living Color,” beautifully reflected the diversity and dynamism within our community.

The Minnesota CHILL Foundation was honored to sponsor the Kid’s Activity Zone at this year’s Rondo Block Party, a celebration that brings together the rich history and vibrant spirit of the Rondo community. Since 2016, we’ve been committed to serving the youth on the East Side of Saint Paul, and it was heartwarming to see so many children and families enjoying the festivities.

This summer, the Minnesota CHILL Foundation proudly concluded our Freedom School Xpress program at the Rondo site with a grand finale. Over the past six weeks, we have been dedicated to empowering over three hundred scholars through our fitness programs, held at Hazel Park Preparatory School, Sandburg Middle School, and John A. Johnson Elementary School.
