We’re excited to announce that the Minnesota Chill Foundation, a Brooklyn Park nonprofit dedicated to using athletics to enhance students’ academic and leadership skills, is one of several organizations benefiting from the upcoming Gus Macker Basketball Tournament. The tournament will take place on August 17 and 18 at North Hennepin Community College in Brooklyn Park.
The Minnesota Chill Foundation not only focuses on basketball but also empowers youth to become better students, strong leaders, and productive community members. One of their flagship programs, the Chill Tech workforce program, offers teens and young adults the opportunity to learn valuable computer and IT skills at the Zanewood Rec Center.
This year, the foundation aims to expand the Chill Tech program with the proceeds from the Gus Macker tournament. However, they need your help to make this event a success! The new deadline for team registration is August 5, and Cindy Hill, founder and CFO of the Minnesota Chill Foundation, encourages everyone to participate. “Now is the time. Get the teams in,” Hill says. “The more the merrier. Brooklyn Park, we’re ready for you. Please come and join us.”
The registration fee for the tournament is $200, and organizers are aiming for around 200 teams. So, grab your friends, form a team, and join us for a weekend of fun and community support. Let’s come together to help local nonprofits and make a positive impact in Brooklyn Park!
