The first morning of the CDF Freedom Schools Summer Program is in the books—and the energy was electric from the very first moment. Minnesota CHILL Foundation is honored to stand alongside Saint Paul Public Schools in launching this powerful six-week experience of cultural pride, literacy, and leadership for K–8 scholars.
From the echo of the morning chants to the eager buzz inside every classroom, it was clear that this is not just another summer program—it’s a movement. With intention woven into every lesson, CDF Freedom Schools gives young people the space and tools to think critically, celebrate their identity, and rise boldly into their full potential.
Rooted in history, leadership, and social action, the program’s curriculum blends academic enrichment with real-world empowerment. Guided by a passionate team of educators and mentors, each day is filled with opportunities to grow, connect, and lead—whether through thought-provoking read-alouds or team-building activities that spark confidence and community.
