Women’s Month Reflections: Alignment, Purpose, and the Power of Showing Up
Women’s Month this year felt less like a series of events and more like a journey of alignment, purpose, and reflection on what it truly means to show up as a woman walking in her assignment. From the Sister Spokesman gathering at the Hallie Q Brown Community Center, where the theme “Her Story” centered voices like Tracey Williams-Dillard CEO and Publisher of MSR, along with authors Rekhet Si-Asar, and Mary Whitney. Then off to Vegas for the 20th Anniversary of Black Enterprise Women of Power Summit held at the Bellagio Hotel, I found myself surrounded by women who are not only C-suites leaders in their industries but are also carrying the responsibility of shifting narratives and opening doors for others. Representing Minnesota alongside leaders like Tonya Barber was a reminder that presence is not accidental, it is preparation meeting opportunity, and when you are aligned, you don’t have to force impact, it naturally follows.
